Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJM) was established in the year 1966. It is a State University which is located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. CSJM is approved by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC). This university offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Programs through its Departments and Affiliated Colleges. Candidates can get admission to CSJM by two processes. The first is based on scores obtained in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University itself and the second based on the UPSEE Entrance Exam score.
UPSEE exam is a gateway for the candidates who want to take admission to various professional courses offered at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level at all the UPSEE colleges. By giving the UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination), candidates can get admission to about 841 institutions/colleges affiliated to AKTU along with other universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Approximately 93 colleges in Ghaziabad and 75 colleges in Gautam Budh Nagar are affiliated with AKTU.

Kanpur University organizes an Online Entrance Test to provide admission to the candidates in BBA, BCA, B.Ed, B.Sc, LL.B, B.P.Ed, B.Li.Sc and BFA courses at the UG level.
Kanpur University provides admission in undergraduate courses in the field of Arts, Biotechnology, Commerce, Computer Applications, Education, Engineering, Management, Medicine, Law, Life Sciences, and Science. To get admission into the undergraduate programs, candidates must clear 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant stream.
