BVSc. Course: Overview
The full form of BVSc. is Bachelor of Veterinary Science, it is a 5-year Undergraduate course that imparts the knowledge of veterinary science, in other words, it is the study of diseases, preventive care, physiological as well as psychological analysis, and complex surgical procedures performed for health and well being of animals.
In this undergraduate course, the students also get to learn about the nourishment, treatment, and breeding of animals. This course is a perfect course choice for those who have a soft heart for animals and want to do something for animal welfare.
As per the latest guideline from the Veterinary Council of India, a BVSc. course should have a minimum duration of 4.5 to 5 years followed by at least one year of compulsory Internship. BVSc. Course Eligibility Criteria

To pursue a BVSc. course, the candidate must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as major subjects with a minimum percentage of 50% in the board examinations. Passing marks in 10+2 (medical stream) is the basic eligibility requirement to pursue this course.

A candidate must be at least 18 years old to pursue the BVSc. course, whereas the maximum age to apply, is 25 years as of 31st December of the admission year. Relaxation of 1 year is provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Admission to BVSc. Course
Earlier, the Veterinary Council of India used to conduct the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT ) for admission to the course BVSc. and AH (Animal Husbandry) course but now the admissions are based on the NEET entrance test, the allotment of seats is based on the score obtained in the NEET-UG followed by AIPVT Counselling.
