KPTCL Exam Pattern
KPTCL Exam Pattern 2025:
KPTCL Exam Pattern will be released by the officials of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. The test will be held online and it will be an aptitude test that will last 2 hours. The types of questions coming in the examination will be Multiple Choice Questions. A total of 100 questions will be coming and each question carries 1 mark. There will be no marks provided for unattempted answers.
The question paper online will be in English format for Group A & Group B Posts (Assistant Executive Engineer Elec.) & (Assistant Engineer Elec./Civil) and Group C posts (Junior Engineer Elec./Civil.) For candidates who have applied for the Junior Assistant post, questions from Computer Literacy will be provided in English only. The questions for Aptitude and General Awareness will be in both English and Kannada. Both General English/ General Kannada will hold 20 marks.

Candidates can prefer one of the centers listed above for appearing in the examination. Efforts will be made in order to provide the best availability of the necessary infrastructure for the candidates. In case if a particular online test center is full, another test center will be allotted to the applying candidate. The candidate will have to appear at the allotted test center venue only. The candidate will have to appear at the Aptitude Test Center at their own funds.
KPTCL Exam Pattern 2025:
For Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE)/Assistant Engineer (AE):
- Questions will be asked from two subjects- Electrical & Electronics and General Awareness & Aptitude.
- Electrical & Electronics- 75 questions of 75 marks
- General Awareness and Aptitude- 25 Questions, each carries 1 mark.
- Total- 100 Marks
For Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO):
- Questions will be asked from two subjects- Finance and General Awareness & Aptitude.
- Finance- 75 questions of 75 marks
- General Awareness and Aptitude- 25 Questions, each carries 1 mark.
- Total- 100 Marks
For Assistant Engineer (AE):
- Questions will be asked from two subjects- Civil and General Awareness & Aptitude.
- Civil- 75 questions of 75 marks
- General Awareness and Aptitude- 25 Questions, each carries 1 mark.
- Total- 100 Marks
For Junior Engineer (Civil):
- Questions will be asked from two subjects- Diploma Civil and General Awareness & Aptitude.
- Diploma Civil- 75 questions of 75 marks
- General Awareness and Aptitude- 25 Questions of each carry 1 mark.
- Total- 100 Marks
For Junior Engineer (Electrical & Electronics):
- Questions will be asked from two subjects- Diploma Electrical & Electronics and General Awareness & Aptitude.
- Diploma Electronics & Electrical - 75 questions of 75 marks
- General Awareness and Aptitude - 25 Questions, each carries 1 mark.
- Total- 100 Marks
For Assistant & Junior Assistant:
- Questions will be asked from three subjects - Computer Literacy, General Awareness & Aptitude, and General English/General Kannada.
- Computer Literacy - 20 questions of 20 marks
- General Awareness & Aptitude - 40 Questions of 40 marks
- General English/General Kannada - 40 Questions of 40 marks
- Total- 100 Marks

Note: Each question in the examination carries 1 mark. 0.25 marks will be deducted as the result of negative marking for each wrong attempt. Unattempted questions will have no marks rewarded and there will be no negative marking for them. The question paper appearing online will be in English and Kannada version.

Note: There will be no negative marking. The Computer Legacy question will appear in English whereas General Awareness and Aptitude Question will be both in English as well as Kannada.
Kannada Language Test Exam Pattern:
The Kannada Language Test will consist of a total of 150 marks. Candidates are required to score at least 50 marks to pass the Kannada Language Test and will be eligible to appear in the Common Aptitude Test.
