Step by Step Process to fill the IMU CET Registration Form 2024

1. Go to the Merchant Navy Official Site i.e www.imu.edu.in
2. Click on the link CET-Apply online.
3. The Indian Merchant Navy Registration page will open in a new window.
4. Read all the instructions given in the box carefully.
5. Click on the box “I have read and understood and abide by the instructions”.
6. Click on Register and the Register window.
7. Fill in your name as given in the Class 10 Marksheet.
8. Fill in the date of birth as given in the Class 10 Marksheet.
9. Fill in the Parents' names as given in the Class 10 mark sheet.
10. Fill in the Nationality and Gender.
11. Add the address of correspondence and permanent address along with the pin code.
12. Fill in the complete educational details like name of the exam, Board name, year of passing, physical fitness criteria, and percentage of marks obtained.
13. Select the exam center from the given options.
14. Upload the required documents, signatures, and photographs in the given format.
15. Pay the Application fee through any of the given modes: credit card/debit card/net banking.
16. Check the Merchant Navy Application form 2024 and click the submit button.

Documents Required for the Form of Merchant Navy 2024

• Class 10 Marksheet as proof of birth.
• Class 12 Marksheet/Certificate.
• Recent passport-size photograph. The candidate’s photograph must be on a white or light-colored background without caps, hats, religious headgear, and sunglasses. The size of the photograph must be 200*230 pixels and less than or equal to 50 KB.

Merchant Navy Exam Form 2024

Candidates who fill in the IMU CET 2024 Exam Registration Form must check the details carefully. A few documents have to be submitted along with the Application form. These include passport-size photographs, mark sheet of the last exam, signature, ID proof of the candidate, caste certificate for the reserved category (if any), and fee payment receipt.

The date of release of the Application form and the last date of submission will be available on the official website of the Indian Maritime University. Candidates must keep checking the website for the latest notification.

Merchant Navy Eligibility

• Merchant Navy Bachelor’s Degree
• Candidates must complete Class 12 exams from a recognized Board with a minimum of 60% marks
• Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as the compulsory subjects
• The age limit of the candidate is 17 to 25 years

Merchant Navy Diploma Course

• Candidates must qualify Diploma in Marine Engineering /Electronics Engineering /Mechanical Engineering /Shipbuilding Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks(for 2 year Diploma).
• Candidates must complete the Class 12 exams from a recognized Board with 60% marks and PCM as the compulsory subjects (For 1-year Diploma).
• The age limit of the candidates must be between 25 to 28 years.

Merchant Navy Postgraduate Course

• GME candidates must have a BE in Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
• The upper age limit of the GME candidates is 25 years.
• The upper age limit for MBA candidates is 28 years.

Merchant Navy 6 Months Course

• Candidates must pass the Class 10 exams with 50% marks with English and Maths as the compulsory subjects.
• The age limit of the candidates must be between 17.5 and 25 years.

Medical Eligibility Criteria for Merchant Navy Courses

• Candidates must be medically fit with proper hearing and eyesight.
• Candidates must have 6/6 vision in each eye.
• Candidates must have a Certificate of Fitness issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.

Admission Process After Passing Merchant Navy Exam 2024

• B.Tech and M.Tech Courses of Merchant Navy

Candidates opting for the Technical courses of the Merchant Navy must appear for the Engineering entrance exam in any one of the following categories:

1. IMU CET
2. JEE (Advanced)
3. MERI Entrance exam
4. TMI SAT

• Sponsorship-Based Merchant Navy Courses

Candidates opting for a sponsorship program can apply to the different Maritime Institutes offering the same through any of the following categories:

1. Candidates can apply for sponsored courses at any of the Maritime Institutes.
2. Candidates can apply to the Maritime Institutes (offering sponsorships) for the desired courses. 

• Lateral Entry-Based Merchant Navy Courses

Candidates can apply for Direct admission to 2nd year Marine Engineering approved by the Directorate General of Shipping after completion of the following programs:

1. 1st year Degree Engineering course in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 60% marks.
2. Diploma Course in Electrical /Mechanical /Ship Building /Marine Engineering with 60% marks.

The candidates must pay the Merchant Navy Application fee along with the form otherwise the process will be considered incomplete.
