VMOU Exam 2025:

Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), was previously called- Kota Open University which got renamed after the notification from the government of Rajasthan on 21st September 2002. The late Chairmanship Prof. G. Ram Reddy observed that the distance system in Rajasthan is well established and it has the potential to grow into a full-fledged Open University. This idea became the seed for the foundation of establishing an open university in the state of Rajasthan.

To achieve proper coordination among the scattered vast distance education resources and to serve the people with a uniformly high-quality education, the university was established by merging two institutes of correspondence courses, Institute of Correspondence Studies and Continuing Education Jaipur and College of Correspondence Studies Udaipur.

Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University’s headquarter is located in Kota and its operational authority is extended to the whole of Rajasthan. This university was established in 1987 with the purpose of:

Providing quality education and research facilities to the students.
To expand and promote a flexible, innovative, and cost-effective education system.
To provide opportunities for the students to pursue higher education.

The university consists of the following schools:

Schools of Commerce and Management
Schools of Counting Education
School of Education
School of Humanities and Social Science
School of Science and Technology

The main objective of VMOU is to provide a high-quality education facility to the larger segment of the population, particularly the groups such as SC/ST and the people living in rural and remote areas, women and in-service people, and others.

The functions performed by this university are as follow:

To provide proper instructions and research facilities in branches with knowledge, technology, vocation, and profession.
To provide courses of study for degrees, diplomas, certificates, or any other purpose.
To determine the manner of the distance education system so as to organize academic programs.
To blend with other universities and institutions primarily with IGNOU in order to adapt to their interlocking system in the field of distance education.
To award fellowships, scholarships, and prizes to aspiring students.
To maintain and establish Study Centers within various Regional Centers as institutional devices for serving distance education in the state.
To grant recognition to examinations, studies, and activities conducted by other universities, institutions, academic bodies, and organizations.
To perform all the functions necessary in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the University.
